Business Quiz (Non-Student Stream)
The Business Quiz (Non-Student Stream), formerly known as the Tata Crucible Business Quiz, follows a rigorous multi-stage competition format designed to identify and celebrate the sharpest business minds across the country.
The competition consists of two online preliminary rounds followed by on-ground Cluster, Zonal and National Finals.
Registrations
- Registrations for the Tata Crucible Business Quiz 2026-27 (Non-Student Stream) will commence by mid-September 2026.
Competition Structure
The competition is conducted in three phases:
- Phase 1: Online Preliminary Rounds (2 Levels)
- Phase 2: Cluster Finals (On-Ground)
- Phase 3: Zonal Finals and National Final (On-Ground)
Phase 1 – Online Preliminary Rounds
Level 1 – Eliminatory Round
The first preliminary round is conducted online.
- Each participant is permitted one attempt only.
- The quiz consists of 15 questions
- Each question carries a 20-second timer.
- The total duration of the quiz is 5 minutes.
- Based on the predefined scoring criteria, the top 200 participants from each of the 9 clusters (1,800 participants in total) will qualify for Level 2*.
*Dependent on final participation numbers received.
Level 2 – Eliminatory Round
Level 2 is conducted online after the registration window closes. Shortlisted participants will receive the Level 2 Prelims schedule via email at a later date.
- The quiz consists of 30 questions.
- Each question carries a 30-second timer.
- The total duration of the quiz is 15 minutes.
- Participants who qualify from Level 1 will be eligible to participate.
- Based on the predefined scoring criteria and subject to verification, the top-performing participants from each cluster will qualify for the Cluster Finals.
Phase 2 – Cluster Finals (On-Ground)
The country is divided into 9 clusters based on the participants' location provided during registration.
- The top 8 participants from each cluster will qualify for the respective Cluster Final.
- A total of 72 participants (8 participants × 9 clusters) will compete in the Cluster Finals.
- Cluster Finals will be conducted as live on-ground events.
- The winner and runner-up from each Cluster Final will qualify for the Zonal Finals.
- A total of 18 participants will advance to the Zonal Finals.
The venue and schedule for each Cluster Final will be announced by the Organisers to the shortlisted participants, closer to the event. If a shortlisted participant is unable to participate in the on-ground Cluster Finals, the Organisers reserve the right to allocate the vacant slot to an eligible participant from another cluster. The Organisers' decision shall be final and binding.
Phase 3 – Zonal Finals
18 Cluster Finalists (winners and runners-up) will compete in the Zonal Finals.
- Participants will be divided into 3 Zonal Finals.
- Each Zonal Final will be conducted as an on-ground event.
- The top two participants from each Zonal Final will qualify for the National Final.
- A total of 6 participants will advance to the National Final.
The venues and schedules for the Zonal Finals will be communicated by the Organisers.
National Final
The National Final is the concluding stage of the competition.
- The 6 finalists emerging from the Zonal Finals will compete in the National Final.
- The National Final will be conducted as an on-ground event.
- The participant securing the highest score in the National Final will be declared the National Champion of the Tata Crucible Business Quiz 2026–27.
The date and venue of the National Finals will be communicated by the Organisers.
Important Notes
- All rounds of the competition are subject to verification by the Organisers.
- Progression to subsequent rounds is based on performance, eligibility verification and compliance with the Terms & Conditions of the competition.
- The Organisers reserve the right to modify the competition format, timelines, venues or progression criteria, if required, at their sole discretion.
- All decisions of the Organisers and the Quizmaster regarding participant progression, scoring and results shall be final and binding.

Terms & Conditions
The following Terms and Conditions govern participation in the Tata Crucible Business Quiz 2026–27 – (Non-Student Stream). By registering for and participating in the Tata Crucible Business Quiz, participants agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions.
1. Eligibility
- The Tata Crucible Business Quiz 2026–27 (Non-Student Stream) is open only to Indian residents based in India.
- There is NO ENTRY FEE for participation in the Quiz.
- The Business Quiz (Non-Student Stream) is open to everyone except full-time students.
- Eligible participants include, are not limited to:
- Working professionals from public or private sector organisations;
- Entrepreneurs and self-employed individuals;
- Start-up founders and employees;
- Gig workers and freelancers;
- Technicians and skilled professionals;
- Vocational learners;
- People on career breaks; and
- Other knowledge enthusiasts.
- Participation is strictly on an individual basis.
- Full-time students in schools, colleges and universities along with individuals who are not Indian residents or presently based in India are not eligible to participate.
2. Registration
- The registrations for this edition are completely online, and the link will be updated on www.tatacrucible.com.
- Participants must complete the registration form with accurate and complete information.
- Participants must select their location during registration, based on which they will be allocated to one of the designated clusters.
- All registrations are subject to verification and acceptance by the Organisers.
- Registered participants will receive a confirmation email upon successful verification of their registration.
3. Competition Format
- The Quiz will be conducted through multiple stages comprising:
- Online Preliminary Round 1;
- Online Preliminary Round 2;
- Cluster Finals;
- Zonal Finals;
- and National Final.
- Detailed instructions for every stage of the competition will be communicated to eligible participants before the commencement of the respective rounds.
- If a shortlisted participant is unable to participate in the on-ground Cluster Finals, the Organisers reserve the right to allocate the vacant slot to an eligible participant from another cluster. The Organisers' decision shall be final and binding.
- Progression to subsequent rounds shall be based on the prescribed scoring methodology and successful verification of participant eligibility.
- The Organisers reserve the right to revise the format, number of rounds, timelines, venues or progression criteria at any stage of the competition.
4. Participant Responsibilities
- Participants must provide accurate information during registration and throughout the competition.
- Participants shall participate only in their own capacity and shall not use proxies or seek assistance from any other individual during any stage of the competition.
- Participants must maintain the highest standards of integrity and fair play throughout the competition.
- Any participant found engaging in cheating, impersonation, plagiarism, use of unfair means or any conduct that compromises the integrity of the competition may be immediately disqualified.
- The Organisers reserve the right to conduct verification checks at any stage of the competition to ensure compliance with these Terms and Conditions.
5. Identity Verification
- Participants qualifying for on-ground rounds must produce valid government-issued photo identification as and when requested by the Organisers.
- The Organisers may request additional documents to verify the participant's identity or eligibility at any stage of the competition.
- Failure to produce the required documents may result in cancellation of participation.
6. Attendance At On-Ground Rounds
- Participants qualifying for the Cluster Finals, Zonal Finals or National Final must be physically present at the venue designated by the Organisers.
- Participants shall be responsible for complying with travel instructions communicated by the Organisers.
- If a shortlisted participant is unable to attend an on-ground round, the Organisers reserve the right to allocate the vacant slot to the next eligible participant, including one from another cluster, at their sole discretion. The Organisers' decision shall be final and binding.
7. Technology Requirements
- The online registration and preliminary rounds will be conducted on digital platforms.
- Participants are solely responsible for arranging reliable internet connectivity, compatible devices and any other technical requirements necessary to participate.
- The Organisers shall not be responsible for interruptions caused by internet failures, device malfunctions, power outages or any technical issues at the participant's end.
- While the Organisers shall make reasonable efforts to ensure smooth functioning of the technology platform, they shall not be liable for any unforeseen technical failures beyond their reasonable control.
8. Conduct During The Quiz
- Participants are expected to uphold the spirit of fair competition at all times.
- Any objectionable behaviour, misconduct or violation of the Quiz rules may result in immediate disqualification.
- The decisions of the Organisers and the Quizmaster shall be final and binding on all matters relating to the Quiz.
- No correspondence regarding the Organisers' or Quizmaster's decisions shall be entertained.
9. Organisers' Rights
- The Organisers reserve the right to:
- accept or reject any registration;
- verify participant eligibility;
- modify the Quiz format;
- amend schedules;
- change venues;
- revise the rules;
- suspend, postpone or cancel any stage of the Quiz; or
- withdraw or terminate the Quiz at any time without prior notice, if deemed necessary.
- Any such decision made by the Organisers shall be final.
10. Photography, Recording And Publicity
- By participating in the Quiz, participants consent to being photographed, filmed, audio-recorded and otherwise recorded during the competition.
- The Organisers may use such photographs, recordings and videos for promotional, publicity, archival, digital, print or other communication purposes without any further consent or compensation.
11. Communication
By registering for the Quiz, participants consent to receive communications from the Organisers regarding:
- the Quiz;
- future editions of Tata Crucible;
- other initiatives undertaken by the Organisers or Tata Group entities.
12. Prizes
- All prizes awarded shall be final and non-transferable.
- No cash alternative, exchange or substitution shall be permitted unless determined otherwise by the Organisers.
- If any prize becomes unavailable, the Organisers reserve the right to substitute it with another prize of comparable value.
- All applicable taxes arising from acceptance of prizes shall be the sole responsibility of the prize recipients.
- Neither the Organisers nor their sponsors, employees, consultants, agents or service providers shall be liable for any injury, loss, damage or claim arising from acceptance or use of any prize.
13. Fraudulent Offers
- The participants do not pay any participation fee to the Organisers.
- Participants are advised to disregard any fraudulent communication claiming otherwise.
- The Organisers shall not be responsible for any loss suffered by participants acting upon such fraudulent offers.
- Participants are encouraged to promptly report any such fraudulent communication to the Organisers.
14. Collection Of Information
The Organisers may collect and process participant information, including government-issued identity documents, banking details (where applicable) and other supporting documentation for:
- participant verification;
- prize distribution;
- communication regarding the Quiz; and
- compliance with applicable legal or administrative requirements.

16. General
- The Organisers reserve the right to alter, amend or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice.
- Participation in the Quiz constitutes unconditional acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
- Failure to comply with any provision of these Terms and Conditions may result in disqualification from the Quiz.
- The Organisers' interpretation of these Terms and Conditions and all decisions relating to the Quiz shall be final and binding on all participants.

Who can participate in the Tata Crucible Business Quiz?
The Business Quiz (Non-Student Stream) is open to everyone except full-time students, and only to Indian residents based in India. This includes working professionals, entrepreneurs, self-employed individuals, start-up founders and employees, gig workers, freelancers, technicians, vocational learners, people on career breaks and other knowledge enthusiasts. Is there any registration fee?
No. Participation is completely free of charge. There is NO ENTRY FEE at any stage of the Quiz. Participants should disregard any fraudulent communication asking for a participation fee.
How many attempts do I get for the online prelims?
You get one attempt for Level 1. Multiple attempts are not allowed, helping ensure fairness and integrity in the competition. Participants who qualify for Level 2 will be eligible to participate in that round.
How are Level 1 and Level 2 prelims different?
- Level 1: An online eliminatory round with 15 questions, 20 seconds per question and a total duration of 5 minutes. The top 200 participants from each of the 9 clusters will qualify for Level 2, based on the predefined scoring criteria.
- Level 2: A more challenging online eliminatory round with 30 questions, 30 seconds per question and a total duration of 15 minutes. The top-performing participants from each cluster will qualify for the Cluster Finals, based on the predefined scoring criteria and subject to verification.
What device or setup do I need to take the quiz?
You will need:
- A desktop or laptop with a stable internet connection
- A modern web browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari)
- Audio enabled (recommended)
Mobile devices are generally not recommended.
How will I know if I’ve qualified for the next round?
Shortlisted participants will be notified by the Organisers through the registered email address. Details and instructions for each stage will be communicated to eligible participants before the respective round.
What identification is required during the quiz stages?
Participants qualifying for on-ground rounds must produce a valid government-issued photo ID
when requested by the Organisers. Additional documents may also be requested to verify identity
or eligibility.
Failure to provide the required documents may result in cancellation of participation.
Do I need to be physically present for the on-ground rounds?
Yes. Participants qualifying for the Cluster Finals, Zonal Finals or National Final must be physically present at the venue designated by the Organisers and comply with the travel instructions communicated to them.
